Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a specialised form of physiotherapy where the tissues are manipulated and mobilised by hand to improve muscle function and release areas of restriction and tension.

Massage and manual therapy also allows the tissues to be warmed up before any other treatment begins by increasing the blood flow to the area and helping to remove any toxins built up from exercise and training.

This can include a variety of techniques such as:

- Massage

- Myofascial release

- Trigger point release

- Joint mobilisation

There are many reasons why massage would be beneficial to your horse including:

- Improved muscular performance and reduce areas of tension

- Increased blood flow and restore function after an injury

- To reduce muscle soreness after a competition

- Aiding in the removal of toxins produced by muscles after exercise
